Welcome
Christian scholars are called to walk with God, integrate their faith and academic discipline and be models of the love of Christ to their peers.
Some have taken on an additional task: organizing a Christian Graduate student Community Group on their campus.
The purpose of this site is to help equip the leadership partners of our network of groups, which we call the University Christian Grads (UCGrads.org).
UCGrads began as a ministry of Grad Resources to serve the personal and spiritual needs of 2 million grad students in the US. It has now expanded to include campus grad groups around the world.
Please review our Goals and Values and then give your feedback to the Christian Grad Proclamation. We polled several students to compile these principles but we may have missed something important to you!
If you are interested in knowing how YOU can help start or enhance a grad group on your campus, proceed to the section: Start Your Own Grad Ministry.
One grad speaks to his peers at CSU.
If we haven't met yet, my name is Andrew Wiersma. I'm a fellow graduate student at CSU and have recently begun attending the CSU Christian grad group gatherings. For the first semester of graduate school, I attempted to weather the storm of higher academia without the support of my co-Christian graduate student brothers and sisters. To say the least, it wasn't a fun experience. Nonetheless, I have turned a new page in my M.S. degree saga and have found all of you.
If you need a community of believers to walk with you through the hard times of graduate school, want to find the intersection of your faith and academic discipline, have a desire to share your love of Christ with others, or just want to dive deeper into scripture -- then join us. We are meeting in the Behavioral Science building room 141 at 2 pm this Friday (Nov. 4) to discuss our vision for this group. We will also introduce a series for graduate student groups like our own, which is designed to draw us close, nurture our personal walk with Christ, and challenge us to step out of our comfort zone. Please let me know if you plan to attend. I hope to see many of you there! If this time doesn't work for you, but you still want to be involved, please email me at any time. Blessings, Andrew

I met Nick the first week of grad school at the University of Texas in 2001 when he was handing out free copies of C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity." I quickly became involved with Grad Resources and ultimately found myself on the leadership team, where we tried new activities, formats and significantly expanded the ministry at UT. For the next 6 years, I was challenged, inspired, and equipped to be a light for Christ to my colleagues in the academic setting--an invaluable experience that I will carry with me into future endeavors.
I completed my Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2007 and now as a "Grad Resources Alumna" am privileged to continue my involvement with Grad Resources as a consultant for Nick as he considers new ideas and situations, an occasional advisor to current grad students dealing with experiences I encountered, and a prayer partner for this organization that so shaped my life when I was a grad student. I look forward to many more years of witnessing and participating in the impact of Grad Resources on the challenging population of graduate students in academia.
